Job Description:
Job Title: Accountant

Position Summary
The Accountant reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is responsible for processing many of the accounting functions critical to the day-to-day operations of the Foundation. In addition, the Accountant will provide assistance to the CFO in the management of the audit, tax filings and various finance related committees. This is a part-time position (60% FTE) or 24 hours per week.

Established in 1991, the Community Foundation currently has assets under management totaling more than of $60 million. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees and has a Staff of 14. In 2016, contributions to the Foundation totaled approximately $10 million and the Foundation distributed over $8 million in grants to nonprofit organizations. Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Financial Transactions – 70%
Manages the daily processing of contributions.
Performs the weekly processing of accounts payable.
Performs monthly preparation of allocation of credit card charges.
Performs quarterly allocation of credit card fees to funds.
Manages the monthly tracking of loan receivable scheduled payments.
Assists in the preparation of financial reports and analysis as requested.
Compliance – 10%
Provides support for the Foundation’s annual audit and tax return.
Assists in the timely completion of all relevant government and tax filings.
Governance- 15%
Attends and takes minutes at quarterly finance, investment and real estate committee meetings.
Assists in the preparation of financial reports for the aforementioned committees.

Accountant Job Description
Skills and Competencies
 Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or finance
 Experience with non-profit fund accounting a plus
 Excellent computer skills, including Excel and Word
 Detail oriented and able to efficiently organize and manage multiple responsibilities
 Excellent time management skills
 Able to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team in a timely manner
 Solid written and verbal communication skills
 Personal qualities of integrity, honesty and discretion

Compensation
This is a part time position (60% FTE) or 24 hours per week. The salary range for this position is $32 - 35,000. The Foundation offers a competitive benefits package including paid time off, retirement contribution and match, parking pass, Eco Pass, and Limited Health Reimbursement Account (employer funded $2,000 per year).
