Do you have a great idea that you think might change the world, but need some additional funding to really make it happen? Well, maybe Kickstarter can help.

Launched in 2009, Kickstarter has become a phenomenal tool for raising money for creative projects. With over 99,000 projects launched and a 44% success rate, Kickstarter has spawned a number of similar sites like Indigogo, Rockethub, Smallknot, and Medstatr, each with their own approach to solving the early stage funding problem.

Since founders aren’t losing any ownership of their business in the process, the Kickstarter approach has become a tool that even bootstrappers can endorse.

So far, 31 projects have already raised over a million dollars.

At the same time, Kickstarter isn’t a solution for every startup. Join us as we dive into the Kickstarter phenomenon, and learn from the experts, as well as battle-torn entrepreneurs, about what works and what doesn’t in this rapidly evolving environment.
